All the major vehicle rental companies are represented in the Guadeloupe Islands. The Pointe a Pitre International Airport (also called Les Abymes, Aéroport Pôle Caraïbes) offers a variety of options for car rentals. Don’t forget that most of the vehicles feature a stick shift! If you need an automatic car, make sure to specify it in advance…

We recommend SIXT (perfect for SUV/Crossover). The company has early flight procedures (car and keys drop off).

Not planning on renting a car? Although Guadeloupe's infrastructure is getting better every year, we would not recommend the use of public transport unless you're comfortable speaking French and flexible enough to deal with our beloved "island time" (some buses and/or stops might be canceled or run on another schedule, without warning). Some hotels, however, might offer some all inclusive excursions including transport, such as the Creole Beach! (see below)
